Teen sleep deprivation is becoming more prevalent with today’s busy schedule.
Sleep deprivation in teens can affect school work and home life. A teen who fails to properly deals with sleep
deprivation may have serious memory problems and will not be able to function in school as well as others. A sleep disorder can be
caused by an irregular schedule, serious stress issues and depression. A lack of performance in teens at school and at home may
result. An emotional disorder such as depression can cause a lack of sleep in teens. If this is the case, a physician should be
consulted as there are many risks associated with this serious disorder. Deprivation of rest in a teen will cause the child to fail in
class work and assignments as well as in tests. Lack of memory in a teen caused by the deprivation can affect grades and cause depression
to be even more severe.
Teens today have a very busy schedule with school and after school activities. Sometimes the stress of everything a teen has to deal
with can cause them to lose sleep. When this happens, it is important to look into the causes and treat them as quickly as possible.
If they become chronic it will make additional complications in your health or memory making it more difficult to function and remain successful
in school and at home.
