Sleep walking or somnambulism is an interesting condition to have as many people if they do
not think it is benign think it is funny. There are some dangers that should be reviewed as people who sleep walk can jump up suddenly and hurt
themselves or jump out of a window. They generally have very little memory as to what has happened but many describe the experience as fleeing
from danger. If you experience sleepwalking you should do a review or assessment of sleep walking dangers? This sleep walking review or
assessment should include an evaluation of the stressors in your life, as anxiety is one of the triggers. Additionally you should have a medical
evaluation in order to determine if you suffer from any sleep disorders. REM sleep anomalies should be reviewed, as they
can be one reason for sleepwalking.
Sleep Walking Reviewed-Evaluation
The condition is more common in men than in women. Additionally both adults and children can sleep walk or suffer from somnambulism although
boys who sleep walk tend to grow out of it.
There are some precautionary measures that can be taken to alleviate the symptoms and stop the person sleepwalking from hurting himself. For
instance a proper rest schedule can lower sleep walking instances, meditation or other stress relievers, the removal of sharp or pointed objects
from the bedroom, and sleeping on the ground floor.
