Strapless Cpap Mask - Comfort For The Wearer

Most sleep apnea masks that accompany cpap pressure machines come with adjustable straps that wrap around the chin and the back of the head. Designed to prevent air leakage, these kinds of sleep apnea masks don't offer much comfort for some people and if you share the same opinion, you might appreciate using a strapless cpap mask as part of your apnea treatment instead. A strapless device is an interesting configuration in that it contains a piece inserted in the mouth - freeing the patient from head binding straps and offering a reasonable level of comfort.

This mouthpiece is similar to the dental device used to protect the teeth of boxers and other sports figures. It's held in place by the teeth, which also act to maintain a grip on the mouth piece. Two nasal pillows reach up to each nostril and inject air through the nose.

To ensure that this strapless apnea mask doesn't re-adjust itself or move around and counteract the comfort that it's designed to provide, the mouthpiece must be molded to fit the patient's teeth, which consequently, also works to prevent the tongue from blockage the airway. Remember that a free unobstructed airway is what enables an apnea victim to breathe without problem.

Connected to the humidifier cpap pressure machine, this alternative mask works to provide the same treatment that masks of other auto cpap machines provide... And that is to send a continuous stream of air to the patient's airway as a form of medical sleep apnea treatment.
