A Child Sleep Disorder Can Be Very Frightening For Parents
However if Properly Diagnosed and Treated You Should See Major Improvement

A child sleep disorder is fairly common.  Child sleep problems can include obstructive sleep apnea.  Children who have a common disorder such as obstructive apnea may have problems in other areas of life.  For instance, hyperactivity is a common result of lack of sleep in a child.  Hyperactivity in children can cause problems in school and at home with learning difficulties and behavioral problems.  The child may have difficulty focusing on a project, therefore unable to learn and comprehend at a rate that other children will learn. This can be disruptive to the class and the teacher, causing frustration for everyone.

Hyperactivity is a disorder that is common in a child even if an obstructive apnea disorder is not present.  Sometimes, pediatricians are quick to treat the hyperactivity without investigating why it is occurring in the first place.  Children who have obstructive sleep apnea can be treated for the disorder and behavioral problems will often subside after the child starts to get a good night's sleep.  This may result in fewer drugs or medications being used on the child.  A CPAP machine is often prescribed to help with sleep disorder problems in children.  The CPAP machine can help with sleep deprivation and this can affect any issues with resulting complications.

Children who have sleep problems  often have disrupted sleep cycles, waking up frequently during the night.  This can be disruptive to the child as well as the parent.  Snoring is a common side effect of apnea and this is the most common indication that a problem exists that can be treated using a CPAP machine.   Often, children see immediate relief once the CPAP is prescribed.  The child will sleep peacefully through the night and get the required amount of rest needed for a child to function properly in life.  Once the child is getting plenty of rest, parents will usually see an immediate corresponding improvement in home and school life.  The child will feel less frustrated and will catch up in learning the required curriculum.
