American Sleep Apnea Association
The ASAA is a Non-Profit Organization Dedicated to the Problem of Sleep Apnea

The American Sleep Apnea Association, or ASAA, is a non profit organization devoted to educating the public on information regarding the disorder, sleep apnea.  The mission of the American Sleep Apnea Association is to reduce injury, disability and death from sleep apnea and to enhance the health of those affected by this obstructive disorder. The  ASAA provides information to the general public and those afflicted with apnea or those who live with a sleep deprivation disorder.  The ASAA website (www.sleepapnea.org) has a lot of information about apnea and support groups where sufferers can go to get assistance.

The ASAA has a mission to better the lives of those with apnea.  The association will also accept donations to help them accomplish the mission of educating people with the obstructive sleep deprivation disorder.  If you want to make a donation to the Association, you can do so on the website or by sending a check or money order directly to their offices located in Washington, DC.  Making a donation to the ASAA will benefit all those who are suffering from apnea and will also allow you a valuable tax deduction.  You can be satisfied with the knowledge that your money is going to help continue the mission.

Obstructive sleep deprivation disorders can be harmful to the patient and may also cause deprivation of sleep for those who live with the patient.  Obstructive sleep disorders generally cause a person to snore excessively, often causing a disruption of sleep.  It is important to get information on the disease and information on treatment options so you can decide, with your physician, on the best course of action.  Often, treatment consists of a CPAP machine that will help open up the airway and allow the person to get a better night’s sleep.  The treatment may take a bit of time to get used to but it will usually significantly help the person who is affected by the disorder and those who sleep with them.
