Eat a Bedtime Snack
Sleep Disorder Tip #06-005

Many people have difficulty sleeping throughout the night as they feel hungry as they are falling asleep or they wake up hungry during the night.

You should try a small high carbohydrate snack about an hour before you go to bed in order to help you sleep sooner. A good suggestion could be juice and cookies. Other foods that you may try include warm milk, eggs, and cottage cheese as well as Turkey or cashews.

By eating a high carbohydrate snack before you go to bed it will stop your hunger pangs from interrupting your sleep. Additionally, the fact that it is not a heavy meal just before bedtime means that you will still achieve a deep sleep.
