CPAP Supplies Reviewed
Evaluation and Assessment
Obstructive sleep apnea is a condition where the sufferer ceases breathing multiple times
each night while asleep. They do not get a proper air supply. Individuals who have had a proper medical evaluation or assessment and have been
diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea will likely be given an analysis and choice of treatments.
The more intrusive treatment that will be reviewed is sleep apnea surgery. The patients airway at the back of the throat is widened surgically,
which may be effective in increasing air supply. A less obtrusive method that should be reviewed and given an assessment is for the patient to be
fitted with a CPAP mask and machine. The patient wears the properly fitted mask overnight
while sleeping and the CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) mask along with attached supplies and equipment keeps the airway open so that
the symptoms of central sleep apnea are alleviated. The fit of the mask is very important for the air supply and the CPAP supplies that are
provided are very important and should be part of the evaluation. The CPAP supplies reviewed should include an analysis of the headgear,
head and chin straps.
CPAP Supplies Review-Analysis and Review
One of the problems wearers have with the CPAP equipment and supplies are that they find it uncomfortable to wear even though it is close to
100% effective. The reasons given include difficulty traveling with the equipment and supplies as well as being unable to sleep with a mask on.
Unfortunately for these individuals surgery is really the only other alternative.
You should review certain lifestyle choices as they may partially alleviate the symptoms. Choices to review include weight loss, light meals
in the evening and cutting back on alcohol.
